What does Anhörung mean?
In an Anhörung (hearing), the office asks for your view before it decides.

The office writes to you about what it plans to do. For example, it wants to reclaim money or cut a benefit. You can explain your view first.
An Anhörung is not yet a decision. That is why you cannot file a Widerspruch yet. The decision comes later as a Bescheid.
The letter usually gives a date by which you can reply. Reply in time and include proof if you have any. If you do not reply, the office decides without your explanation.
